School Merger - CS Alliance

School Merger

"As the unified Body of Christ, we will continue to strengthen the future of Catholic education. And while we will do this together, we will look back, but more importantly, look to the future."

The name of the merged school between Holy Family Holy Name and St. James St. John schools will be Saint Teresa of Calcutta School!

Saint Teresa of Calcutta School will serve an estimated 300 students from Pre-K to grade 8 and will reside on the St. James St. John campus on Orchard Street in New Bedford for Pre-K to grade 4. A new middle school for grades 5-8 will be established in the Kennedy Youth Center located behind the St. James St. John building.

CYO building before renovations which is the location of the new middle school.

Both schools have proud histories and great accomplishments in serving thousands of young people in New Bedford with Christ-centered teachings and attending to each unique student’s faith journey.

Holy Family Holy Name has provided tangible and educational support to young people in the heart of the city.
St. James St. John has elevated its values of Faith, Friends, Family, caring for the emotional, physical and spiritual health of each student.

To enroll your child into Saint Teresa of Calcutta School, please call Cristina Viveiros-Serra at (508) 996-0534 or Deacon Peter Schutzler at (508) 993-3547.
