Nominated By: Nicole Cleary
When my son entered first grade, he was really struggling with reading. He had no confidence and would often say, “I can’t read,” refusing to even try. It broke my heart because I’ve always loved reading, and I wasn’t sure if it just wasn’t going to be for him.
Mrs. Pereira changed everything. With patience, encouragement and steady guidance, she helped him grow not just in skill but in confidence. By the end of the year, he had transformed into a reader. She gave each student a chapter book as a gift, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and to my surprise, he finished it in a single day. I bought him the rest of the series, and he read them all. He hasn’t stopped reading since.
Today, as a third grader, he’s reading books meant for fifth graders and beyond. I often have to tell him to stop reading at bedtime because he’ll keep going for hours if I let him. Mrs. Pereira sparked something lasting and meaningful in him. I’ll always be grateful for the way she supported him, believed in him and helped him discover a love of reading.

I am thrilled to nominate Mrs. Gardner for recognition as an outstanding preschool teacher. She has had a truly remarkable impact on my daughter’s early education and development, and I believe she exemplifies the very best qualities of an educator.
From the very first day, Mrs. Gardner has shown exceptional dedication to engaging her students in meaningful, creative learning experiences. She has a unique gift for making learning fun and accessible, capturing the children’s curiosity and helping them build foundational skills with confidence. Under her guidance, my daughter has made incredible strides in her writing abilities — something that has amazed us at home and filled us with pride.
Beyond her work in the classroom, Mrs. Gardner goes above and beyond by providing consistent, thoughtful updates to parents each day. These daily communications not only keep us informed but also help us feel connected and involved in our child’s growth and learning journey.
What makes her commitment even more inspiring is that she is currently pursuing her master’s degree in the evenings — all while continuing to pour her heart into her students each day. Her ability to balance it all with grace, warmth, and professionalism is truly commendable.
Mrs. Gardner is a role model for both her students and the wider school community. We feel incredibly fortunate to have her in our child’s life, and I wholeheartedly recommend her for this honor.

Nominee’s Name: Little Flower Staff
School Name: Little Flower Early Learning Center
Nominated By: Maria Robinson
I know that I am supposed to nominate one person, but please keep reading to understand why I had to nominate the entire Little Flower Staff! My two daughters are ages 2 and 5. Both were born profoundly deaf, and both now wear cochlear implants to hear. I remember the day that I visit visited Little Flower, nervous about finding a place that be the right fit for my daughter. From the moment I walked in the door, the director, Donna Paris made it clear that my daughter would not only be cared for, but would be loved at Little Flower. I will never forget the way she celebrated the fact that my daughter would be the first child at their center with cochlear implants or hearing loss, rather than approaching it with fear or uncertainty. From that day on, every single teacher and staff member that had worked with my two daughters has loved and cared for them in a way far beyond what I could have ever asked for. Their teachers throughout the years: Ms Louise, Ms. Leanne, Ms. Carey, Ms. Megan, Ms. Caitlyn, Ms. Amanda and Ms. Kaylee have shown my girls so much love each and every day. They have gone above and beyond to learn how to help them with their cochlear implants. Beyond that, they provide such fun learning opportunities for them. Even staff members who are not their direct classroom teachers like Mr. Caden and Ms. Tabby, have come to know them and make them feel so welcome every day. Ms. Donna and the entire Little Flower staff have created a home away from home for my girls. As a mom who was once very worried about my girls being cared for and accepted, I do not have the words to express how truly thankful I am to Little Flower. I will forever be grateful for this truly incredible group of people.
Nominee’s Name: Kimberly Terceiro
School Name: St. Teresa of Calcutta
Nominated By: Brayden Ferreira
I think that Mrs. T is a really awesome teacher and definitely should be nominated. I think so because she gets us to listen and pay attention by telling really fun and educational stories because if you teach a kid math and science the regular way, the chances are that they won’t remember it.
Another reason is because she taught us about fractions, hurricanes, and tornadoes. It inspired me so much that I decided to write a letter to the national hurricane center to ask to put my name on the hurricane list.
That’s why I 1,000,000,000,000% think she should be nominated. I know she works really hard at her job.

Nominee’s Name: Julie McCarthy
School Name: St. Mary, Mansfield
Nominated By: Kimberly Elias
From the first time I met Mrs. McCarthy, in 2016, when my oldest was entering the first grade at St. Mary’s, she immediately impressed me with her enthusiasm and genuine desire to meet each student’s needs in her classroom. During my son’s time in her first-grade classroom, I could see her desire to inspire each of her students to learn successfully. A few years later, when my daughter entered her first-grade classroom, her enthusiasm and desires remained unchanged; she continued to inspire her students and create a warm, loving, and energizing learning experience for all who entered.
When Mrs. McCarthy’s role at St. Mary’s changed from teacher to Assistant Principal, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy. As a parent, knowing that an important position in the school is being filled by a teacher who has not only won over the hearts of all the students but also the parents makes a difference.
With my oldest daughter, I have had the privilege of working directly with Mrs. McCarthy as the Assistant Principal. Mrs. McCarthy has been nothing less than supportive and understanding. She has put her all into making sure my daughter received the best experience that St. Mary’s had to offer.
We are beyond thankful for Mrs. McCarthy; she has truly shaped our journey through St. Mary’s, and we are excited to send our youngest child to St. Mary’s because of her.

Nominated By: Heather Tyler & Izabella Whiting
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to nominate Donna Paris, the director of Little Flower Early Learning Center, for recognition of the truly remarkable impact she has on every child, parent, and staff member who walks through the school’s doors. As a parent, I can say without hesitation that she is the heart and soul of the school.
What sets Donna apart is her ability to make every single child feel uniquely seen, valued, and special. She doesn’t just know each child’s name—she knows their personalities, their needs, their challenges, and their strengths. Whether it’s a quiet smile, a quick reassuring word, or a celebratory cheer, she meets children exactly where they are, helping them feel safe, loved, and confident to grow.
She also has a deep understanding of what parents need—especially those of us who are trusting someone else to care for our children for the first time. Her warm presence and open communication ease the anxieties of drop-off and replace them with peace of mind. We know our children are not only cared for, but genuinely known and supported.
Despite the many responsibilities that come with running an entire school, Donna manages to hold it all together with grace, strength, and unwavering dedication. As one person, she wears countless hats—but always with the same passion and purpose. The entire school community benefits from her leadership, kindness, and tireless work.
She is, in every sense, extraordinary—and so worthy of recognition. We are beyond grateful to have her guiding our children through their earliest learning experiences.

Nominee’s Name: Kathleen Jones
School Name: St. John the Evangelist
Nominated By: Brienne Costigan
I was so excited to find out my son would have Mrs. Kathleen Jones for a kindergarten teacher this year at SJE. I had heard so many wonderful things from other parents whose children had her for a teacher in the past and I knew she would be just what my son needed. Mrs. Jones is one of the most kind, loving, caring, patient, and dedicated teachers that I have encountered.
The growth we have seen in our son’s penmanship, reading, and math skills all in a short few months is a true testament to her devotion to teaching and molding the minds of kindergarteners. She is accessible to parents through email, class dojo, via phone call, and you can always see her Jeep still parked outside when its time to pick up my son from aftercare. During these long school days she is serving as both the lead teacher in a kindergarten classroom, but also the assistant principal. With how busy her schedule is, she still always makes time to address the concerns of parents and care for her students. She has brainstormed with me and my husband to create a plan to ease our son’s transition to school in the morning. She has accommodated his needs and shows him lots of love on days when he needs it the most. She is truly such a wonderful person and deserves to be recognized as an outstanding teacher in the Catholic school community! Thank you for everything Mrs. Jones. We are so grateful to have you in our lives.
Nominee’s Name: Paula Bedard
School Name: St. John the Evangelist
Nominated By: Patrick Gallagher
Mrs. Bedard has been both of my children’s teacher, one of them twice as she swapped grades for a couple years. She has always set structure by teaching good morals and values to all her students. She would do anything for any of her students to help them succeed. I have seen it first hand. She does nothing for recognition other than to see her students succeed. From the first day my son had her as a teacher (about 15 years ago) and her beyond supportive nature, she helped my son and his class understand adoption and was the first person to welcome my daughter to the SJE family. We were and still are so appreciative of all she has done for my families and other families in her long and great career. As my daughter is now in 8th grade and ready to move onto High School, she continues to impact my daughter as my daughter has a 1st grade buddy and spends time helping her connect with younger students at SJE. I could go on at length about how great Mrs. Bedard is not only for all her students but for this school community as well. There is no better person and teacher more worth of this recognition than Mrs. Paula Bedard.
Thank you,
Patrick Gallagher

Nominated By: Stephanie Pereira
We are so incredibly thankful for Mrs. Sousa. From day one, she has shown so much patience and kindness—not just with Tina, but with every child in her class. She treats them like her own, and that kind of love and care is rare.
Tina had a tough time with separation anxiety, and Mrs. Sousa gave her a little stuffed animal to hold onto while she was away in a meeting. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and it made a huge difference for Tina (and honestly, for me too). Mrs. Sousa always keeps me in the loop if she notices any changes in Tina’s behavior, and I really appreciate how much she cares and communicates.
Tina absolutely adores her—we call her, Tina’s “school mom,” and I honestly can’t think of a better way to describe the role Mrs. Sousa plays in her life. Knowing my daughter is in such loving, capable hands gives me so much peace of mind. We’re just so grateful to have her.

I can’t say enough about how grateful I am for Mrs. Pontes. Natalia has been dealing with a lot of anxiety and big emotions at school lately, and Mrs. Pontes saw that—really saw her—and stepped in without hesitation.
She’s made the effort to check in on Natalia, stopping by her classroom just to make sure she’s okay. One day, she even gave Natalia a little stuffed animal to help comfort her.
She is the definition of dedicated and compassionate. She didn’t have to step in, but she did, simply because that’s who she is. Natalia loves her so much. We’re incredibly thankful for her kindness, her presence, and the steady support she’s given when we needed it most.

He serves as a head of the school’s National Honor Society chapter, guiding students in leadership, academic excellence, and service. He is involved in the performing arts, contributing to the school play, and lends his support to athletics, even running the scoreboard for the softball team. No matter the need, Mr. Chen steps up with enthusiasm and humility.
Perhaps most meaningful is the way he builds relationships rooted in trust and respect. He offers a safe, welcoming space where students know they can come for help, whether they are struggling with coursework—or just navigating the challenges of adolescence. Even when a student’s difficulty falls outside of his subject area, he is there, ready to explain, encourage, and uplift.
Mr. Chen is not only a teacher, but a true mentor. His dedication to nurturing both the academic and spiritual growth of his students reflects the values at the heart of Catholic education. He leads by example—through his faith, compassion, and commitment to excellence.
It is with deep gratitude and respect that I submit this nomination. Mr. Chen is a gift to the St. John Paul II School community, and his tireless efforts deserve to be celebrated.

Through her creativity, kindness, and passion for teaching, she inspires a genuine love of learning in every child she teaches. She has gone over and beyond teaching our daughter who started SMSH this year and we are beyond grateful for her. Thank you, Mrs. Daniels, for all you do!
Nominee’s Name: Amanda De Oliveira
School Name: Holy Trinity
Nominated By: Lillian Kennedy
Mrs. de Oliveira is a wonderful, caring, thoughtful, extraordinary teacher! This year my daughter’s class unexpectedly was told they were going to have a long term substitute. She stepped in to fill the role until a substitute was hired. She made them feel safe, heard, and helped with the BIG transition into 4th grade. My daughter has benefited from her specialized support through special Ed services and now has the pleasure of working with her in the class. It’s been a pleasure to watch her interact with not only my child but witnessing older students come up for a hug or an encouraging word or just to tell her they passed a test. Each week we are able to say hello to her during mass on Sunday and she always greets us with a warm smile and excitement for the new week. Her impact is long lasting and I’m thankful God brought her into our life.

My daughter, who is now 10 years old, has been attending the school since she was 4. She is a quiet and shy child, and from early on, she formed a strong connection with Miss Lisa. According to my daughter, Miss Lisa always keeps her door open and creates a warm, welcoming environment. She is incredibly kind and caring, often inviting my daughter to sit with her during lunch. She regularly tells me what a wonderful child I have, and she always speaks with honesty and genuine kindness. Holy Trinity is truly fortunate to have someone like her.

My son has expressed several times that he enjoys having Mr. DaRosa as his teacher. Mr. DaRosa is patient, kind and entertaining. He is also consistent with his class rules and assignments, which helps my son understand expectations.
I am so thankful to have my child attend a Catholic private school that allows him to keep the innocence of a child, brings God into the conversation and puts education (not politics) first.

Nominated By: Caitlin S
Mrs. Moura has been a wonderful support for both of my children at Holy Trinity School. As their Kindergarten assistant teacher, she always made learning exciting and fun. Not only that, she helped them solve problems, make friends, and gain skills needed later in life that go beyond academics. Although my daughter is now older, she still comes to give Mrs. Moura a hug daily, and will ask her for advice and support. Mrs. Moura’s impact will forever be cherished and remembered.
