Hope and Opportunity Initiative renewed for the 2018-19 school year!
Guadalupe Menesses’ son is just one of the 56 new students attending a Catholic school this year thanks to the Hope and Opportunity Initiative. Each student and family has a unique story of how they came to one of our schools, but they all share the sense that their lives have been changed by this opportunity.
Ms. Menesses recently shared with us what a this blessing is for her family;
“Thanks to the Hope and Opportunity Initiative everything changed in my life for my children. My children have been given an opportunity to receive a Catholic Education which has a higher level of academic standards for my children.
I see that their skills have improved in different areas not only in their academics, but also in such areas as their manners, getting along with others, and kindness. The most important gift of Hope and Opportunity is that now they know how really important GOD is in our life.
Our God has made this all possible! I am very thankful and so blessed for this program that has made it possible for my children to receive a Catholic Education!”
Each new student adds to the school and we are grateful to be able to welcome them into our family. No one should be denied a quality Catholic education because of finances and we strive to put a Catholic education within every family’s reach.
The Diocese of Fall River Catholic Schools Alliance (CSA) and Foundation to Advance Catholic Education (FACE) are excited to announce that the Hope and Opportunity Initiative will continue for the 2018-19 school year! Additionally it will be expanded to include new K – 8 students in our three Taunton schools as well as schools in Fall River and the Greater New Bedford Area. Like last year, the Initiative will provide 100 new low-income students with scholarships up to $2,000 to attend a Catholic elementary school. Additional aid from schools and parishes is also available. This Initiative has been made possible by a donation to FACE from the Carney Family Charitable Foundation.
Families interested in learning more about the Hope and Opportunity Initiative should reach out to their local Catholic school directly, find a school on our website www.CatholicSchoolsAlliance.org or contact Sarah Heaton at (508)678-2828 or sheaton@catholicsa.org for help finding their local school.
